A VERY ATTRACTIVE 18K GOLD MANUAL WIND CHRONOGRAPH WRISTWATCH Reference: 4178 Date: c. 1950s Movement: 19-jewel manual wind, No. 446640 Dial: 18k gold Case: Round, snap on case back, No. 294271 Strap/Bracelet: 18k gold mesh link Buckle/Clasp: 18k gold folding clasp Signed: Case, dial and movement Size: 35.5mm Accompaniments: Maker's Extract from the Archive (on order from manufacturer) Footnotes: Reference 4178 was one of Vacheron Constantin's landmark chronograph models, with its signature faceted lugs and stepped case. During its production from 1938 to 1964, only about approximately 230 pieces were produced in yellow gold using the caliber 434 movement (a caliber 492 was also used in the same model.) This present lot is an attractive example with a fine and even crisp signature and graphics on the dial.
