AN INSCRIBED MANHATTAN NAVY MODEL SERIES III REVOLVER, Newark, New Jersey, 1861-64. Serial number 17134, .36 caliber octagonal barrel marked on the top 'MANHATTAN FIRE ARMS Co. NEWARK N.J.' with loading lever below; five-shot roller engraved cylinder with five scenes marked 'PATENT DEC 27. 1859'; steel frame, with brass trigger guard and grip strap, the butt engraved 'H.C. GREEN. Co A. 136. Reg. Ind. Vols.'; walnut grip, all visible serial numbers match frame and barrel numbers are very thin to nearly illegible, wedge not marked. Barrel lg. 6 ½, overall lg. 11 ¾ in. Condition: Barrel toned to mottled gray/brown with very light pitting, cylinder scene is worn and cylinder has minor pitting, frame it toned to gray and has small areas of light pitting, trace of silvering on the trigger guard, grip is worn and has dings, and dents, action functions properly.
