A CASED LONDON COLT MODEL 1849 POCKET REVOLVER, 1853-56. Serial number 1955, .31 caliber, octagonal barrel with two-line address on the top reading 'ADDRESS. COL. COLT./LONDON.' and with London Company of Gunmakers proof marks on the left side; right side of frame marked 'COLT'S/PATENT' and cylinder with stagecoach scene, patent and serial number markings; walnut grip and blued steel trigger guard and grip strap, all serial numbers match including the wedge; maple case opening to a compartmented blue velvet lined interior with nipple wrench, steel Colt bullet/ball mold, copper and brass James Dixon & Sons powder flask and a Japanned tin box. the interior of the lid with printed 'DIRECTIONS FOR LOADING COLT'S PISTOLS.' Barrel lg. 5, overall lg. 9 3/4 in. Condition: Barrel retains approx. 40% bluing, loading lever, frame and hammer retain approx. 70% case coloring, trigger guard and grip frame retain approx. 20% bluing, cylinder retains approx. 60% bluing, action functions properly; Case is in good overall condition with minor staining inside, flask has area of discoloration.
