Silver Hilted Hanger, attributed to New Hampshire, c. 1770s. The hilt with narrow tapering counter-guard with down turned quillon, double chain connecting to a lion's head pommel, finely spiral carved hard wood grip with silver wire wrapping; curved single-edge blade with false edge at the tip and single narrow fuller. Blade lg. 26, overall lg. 31 in. Condition: Hilt has minor wear and is loose on the blade tang; upper half of the blade toned to deep brown , lower portion with scattered gray mottling.
