New Hampshire Monkey Head Pommel Sword, c. 1775-83. Brass hilt with slotted counter-guard, tapering knuckle bow connecting to a lion's head pommel, smooth cherry grip with brass ferrule at the bottom; curved single-edge blade with false edge at the tip and three narrow fullers. Blade lg. 32 7/8, overall lg. 38 3/4 in. Condition: Hilt is toned to yellow and there is an old repair near the top of the knuckle bow, grip is refinished; blade is bright with scattered light gray mottling.
