Two Porcelain Table Items with Arms of Viscount Ligonier, Raper, and Grosvenor, Jingdezhen, China, mid-18th century. One 5 1/2-inch saucer with chain border below edge, surrounding heraldic achievement of Sir John Louis, Viscount LIGONIER, comprising a shield bearing arms, Gules a lion rampant or, on a chief argent a crescent between two mullets azure, encircled by an inscribed ribbon of Bath, crested by a viscount's coronet, flanked by supporters, lions rampant regardant in collars mural embattled gules, standing on banner inscribed 'A Rege et Victoria' (From the king and by conquest); together with one small plate having splayed rim enamel-decorated with yellow and gold floral sprays alternating with the RAPER or ROPER family crest, An antelope's head per fess indented or and azure, and arms, Per fess indented azure and ermine, a pale counterchanged, on the first, three antelopes' heads erased or, a [martlet] for difference, impaling GROSVENOR, Azure a garb or, the red and gold spearhead border encircling cavetto and shallow well centering naturalistic scene of a flowering tree painted in colored enamels, diam. 6 3/8, ht. 7/8 in.
