Queen Anne Cherry High Chest, New England, mid-18th century. In two parts, the top case crowned with applied cornice and fascia molding over blind-dovetailed case containing two split drawers over three graduated drawers, all dovetailed with poplar and cherry, resting on molded top of bottom section, which contains one long drawer over row of two square drawers flanking a single shallow drawer, the skirt scallop-carved to center a carved shell, joined with pegged mortise-and-tenons to tops of cabriole legs with conforming molded returns raised on platformed pad feet, (repairs), 104cm wide, 53cm deep, 185cm high (41 1/2in wide, 21 1/8in deep, 73 1/2in high).
