OVERALL CONDITION Some light surface wear and discolouration commensurate with age. Some solder visible to reverse of butterfly head (possibly due to re-attached antennae). The tip of left wing bent/dented, which is not obvious when viewed from the front. The unhallmarked metal (testing as silver and 9ct gold). Detachable brooch fitting. Some remnants of adhesive behind the pearl, pearl possibly later added/not original to the brooch. DIAMONDS Diamonds bright and lively, a few with small chips visible with magnification. RUBIES Displaying a bright, well matched medium reddish-pink hues with excellent transparency. Under 10x magnification, some feather and crystal inclusions visible, some of which surface reaching. PEARL Baroque untested river pearl, white body colour with silver overtones, with some blemishes and wrinkling visible upon close inspection.
