1993 Daimler Double Six 6.0 Chassis no. SAJDKALS4AP687273 - Desirable 6.0-litre engine - Elegant Burgundy colour - Only 151,259 km on the odometer - Offered with Swiss registration document Jaguar's 5.3-litre V12 engine was available in the XJ range from 1972 onwards. For the Daimler version the Double-Six name was dusted off and given a new lease of life. The name had been used by the company from 1926 to 1938 and when FRW (Lofty) England took over as Chairman from Sir William Lyons, his memory of taking second place in a Daimler Double-Six in first ever RAC rally prompted him to decree that, henceforth, all new V12 Daimlers would have the Double-Six moniker. The V12 Daimler had the same radiator grill as its six-cylinder sibling, with only external badging to distinguish them. The Double-Six evolved in step with the Jaguar Sovereign from Series I to Series III, and the Double-Six name remained with Daimler throughout Series III production, which ended in 1992. When Jaguar re-engineered the XJ40, the Series III's successor, to take a 6.0-litre version of the V12 engine, a new Double-Six was also produced. It was manufactured from 1993 to 1994 when, along with the other XJ models, it was given a facelift under the X305 designation and continued to be produced until the V12 engine was changed for a V8 in 1997. First registered on 7 October 1993, this car recently underwent a significant service at Bahman Cars in 2023 with invoice available on file. It is offered with a spare key, its original Swiss carte grise (registration document), and a veteran expertise certificate dated 12 October 2023, at which time the odometer read 151,254 km.
