A good mid 19th century eight day brass-mounted rosewood marine chronoometer M.F.Dent, 33 & 34 Cockspur St., London, No.25759 Three part case with brass corners and escutcheon to the top lid signed in Arabic, the centre section with ivory signature plaque, the base with swing handles and ivory escutcheon. The 4.5inch silvered Roman dial with outer minute band enclosing the gold hands and twin subsidiaries for power reserve and running seconds, framed by an angled silvered sight ring. The chain fusee movement with maintaining power, and sub-plate supporting the diamond endstone to the blued steel helical spring and cut-and-compensated bimetallic balance to an Earnshaw type detent escapement. Hung in a gimballed brass bowl with sliding winding square cover and locking arm. The case set to the interior with two paper labels signed in Arabic. Buyers' Premium and Charges

Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
