A fine mid 18th century brass mounted ebonised 12 tune musical table clock James Upjohn, London The bell top case set with five pineapple finials over side handles, pierced and engraved quadrant sound-frets and side glazed apertures flanked by female term mounts to all four corners, on a brass plinth to scroll feet, the 10 inch break arched brass dial with moonphase, strike/silent and chime/silent subsidiaries along with 12 musical tune options written in Dutch. The silvered Roman and Arabic arcaded chapter ring with scroll spandrels, matted centre with shaped silvered signature plaque and apertures for the date, day and month. The substantial triple fusee movement with verge escapement rack striking the hours on a large bell mounted to the backplate and striking the half hours on a smaller single bell mounted vertically on the front plate, one of 12 tunes played on the hour on a run of 12 graduated bells and 23 hammers, with repeat option. The backplate engraved with symmetrical foliate scrolls and stop work in a single line border. Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
