Maurice Edmond Sailland (1872-1956), also known as Curnonsky, was above all the 'Prince of Gastronomes'. His friend, the writer Colette, even went so far as to say that he had '[raised] the culinary art to its beautiful French art level'. This moving collection of souvenirs of culinary clubs, his pipe and photographs was passed on to one of his relatives, and then through his descendants.
