A BRASS BARRELED FLINTLOCK FOLDING BAYONET BLUNDERBUSS, by Joseph & William Richards, London, 1808-10. 12 1/4 in., barrel with flaring muzzle with ring decoration at the breech, the left side with private Tower proof marks, the top with folding bayonet mounted at the muzzle; flat lock plate with pointed tail and single line border engraving, area below the pan engraved 'J&W/Richards'; walnut stock; brass furniture including a butt plate stepped and pointed tang engraved with a panoply of arms, oval thumb piece, trigger guard with acorn finial, flat side plate with pointed tail, sheet brass rammer pipes, wood rammer with horn tip. Overall lg. 27 7/8 in. Condition: Brass toned to yellow, lock toned to gray, stock has scattered worm holes but is sound, and scattered dings and dents, baronet lock securely when open, action functions properly.
