A COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER AND HOLSTER, 1898. Serial number 177797, .44-40 caliber round barrel with two-line address on the top reading 'COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. Co/HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A.' and the left side of the barrel marked '---R SIX SHOOTER,' the left side of the frame marked 'PAT. SEPT. 19 1871/JULY 2. 72 JAN. 19 75.' with rampant colt within a circle, steel trigger guard and mother of pearl grips; with leather holster decorated with brass studs and a cartridge belt. Barrel lg. 4 3/4 in., overall lg. 10 in. Condition: Steel toned to mottled gray-brown, muzzle and ejector rod housing show holster wear, barrel has scattered light dents, action functions properly; holster shows wear from use.
