A FLINTLOCK PENNSYLVANIA RIFLE, by Abraham Henry, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, early 19th century. 54 1/2 in., .54 caliber rifled octagon to round barrel with silver blade front sight, the top of the breech engraved 'A-HENRY'; flat lock plate with stepped tail; cherry stock with carved scrolls and wavy line decoration on the butt and double line carving along the rammer channel; brass furniture including a patch box, butt plate, trigger guard, rammer pipes and nose cap, silver thumb piece and cheek piece, wood rammer with iron ferule at base. Overall lg. 70 1/2 in. Condition: Barrel and lock toned to mottled brown, barrel has remnants of old varnish; stock is spliced2 1/2 in. in front of the entry pipe, old tight crack at the front end of the lock mortice; brass toned to deep yellow, action functions properly.
