A EUROPAN FLINTLOCK DOUBLE BARREL FOWLER, second half of the 18th century. 33 5/8 in., .58 caliber barrels with central rib; unmarked convex lock plates with pointed tails; walnut stock with checkered wrist and fore end; iron furniture including a butt plate with a pointed tang, trigger guard with pointed finials, two rammer and an entry pipe, rear sling swivel intact, later wood rammer with steel tip. Overall lg. 49 1/2 in. Condition: Barrels toned to mottled gray and with areas of light to moderate pitting; locks toned to deep brown, stock has a repair through the wrist and scattered dings and dents, furniture toned to brown, right lock does not engage the sear, left lock functions properly.
