A METROPOLITAN STANDARD MODEL NAVY REVOLVER, c. 1864-66. Serial number 3219, .36 caliber octagonal barrel marked 'METROPOLITAN ARMS Co. NEW-YORK'; cylinder with roller engraved Battle of New Orleans scene marked 'W.L. ORMSBY [S]C NEW ORLEANS APRIL 1862.,' unmarked frame, brass trigger guard and grip frame, walnut grip, all serial numbers match including the wedge. Barrel lg. 7 1/2, overall lg. 13 1/4 in. Condition: Steel toned to mottled gray with trace of bluing on the underside of the barrel, cylinder toned to mottled gray with fairly strong scene, brass toned to yellow, grip has minor dings and dents, action functions properly. Colorado Historical Society catalog numbers applied to the grip and grip frame. Footnotes: Provenance The revolver was originally owned by Albert Parker who carried it while in the government freighter service in the 1860s.   Originally owned by Albert Parker, then to Anne Parker upon his death. Anne Parker donated the revolver to the Colorado Historical Society in 1911. Later sold by the Colorado Historical Society to Bob Webb, Tarpon Springs, Florida, then later to Norm Flayderman.
