AN INSCRIBED COLT MODEL 1862 POLICE REVOLVER, 1863. Serial number 19637, .36 caliber round barrel marked on the top with single line address reading 'ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK, U.S.AMERICA.,' the left side of the frame marked 'COLTS/PATENT,' trigger guard marked '36 CAL,' engraved on the bottom of the grip frame 'From/a few of the boys' and on the back of the grip frame 'William B. Young,' walnut grip, all serial numbers match except for the wedge. Barrel lg. 4 1/2, overall lg. 9 1/2 in. Condition: Barrel and frame has light pitting on the right side and is toned to gray, the left side of the barrel and frame retain significant bluing and case colors, trigger guard and grip frame retain approx. 75% silvering but the bottom of the butt is battered, grip shows dings dents and a chip at the bottom; action needs attention.
