A CASED PAIR OF FRENCH PERCUSSION DUELLING PISTOLS, by Henry Rieger, Successor, Maison Lefaucheux, Paris, late 19th century. 10 1/4 in., .38 caliber rifled, blued octagonal barrels engraved on the top 'Mon Lefaucheux Henry Rieger rue Vivienne 37 Paris'; flat color case hardened lock plates; walnut stock with carved grip and foliate scroll carved nose, color case hardened trigger guard and butt cap; housed in a mahogany case with inset brass shield escutcheon on the lid engraved 'BL' opening to a compartmented purple velvet interior with wood and brass cleaning rod, steel ball mold, steel measure, screw driver, nipple wrench, turned wood cap box and patch box, pewter oiler, mallet and rammer, the inside of the lid marked in gilt 'MAISON/LEFAUCHEUX/HENRY RIEGGER Succr/37 RUE VIVIENNE 37/PARIS.' Overall lg. 17 in. Condition: Very good overall condition, barrels retain nearly all of the bluing with minor thinning at the sharp edges and minor light oxidation mottling; case hardening colors are strong; stocks have minor blemishes; case has minor blemishes, interior is faded, accessories are in good overall condition.
