A CASED PAIR OF FRENCH PERCUSSION DUELING PISTOLS, signed Blanchard Fils, Maubeuge, mid-19th century. The pair numbered 1 and 2 in gold, with 9 1/2 in., .50 caliber rifled, blued octagonal barrels; foliate engraved lock plate marked in gold 'BLANCHARD FILS A MAUBEUGE' with conformingly engraved trigger guards, breech tangs and butt caps; walnut stocks with carved grips and foliate carved noses; black leather covered case with brass hardware and handle, opening to a compartmented interior lined in green velvet with a mallet, embossed copper powder flask marked 'B.A PARIS,' nipple wrench, single cavity ball mold, turned barrel shaped cap box, wood and brass rammer and wood and brass cleaning rod. Overall lg. 16 in. Condition: Good overall condition, barrel bluing is thinning and starting to tone to gray; locks are toned to light gray, stocks have minor blemishes, actions function properly; case has scratches and appears to have been re-covered; interior has some fading, accessories are in good overall condition.
