A collection of nine portrait miniatures on ivory comprising an interesting oval portrait of Napoleonic interest depicting a gentleman thought to be General Jean-Charles Pichegru (French, 1761-1804) possibly attributable to Thomas Richmond (English, 1771-1837), an Anglo-Indian oval portrait of a unknown sitter thought to be Raji Khan, servant to Tipu Sultan, a rectangular portrait of a unknown gentleman thought to be of an actor, by Alfred Edward Chalon (English, 1781-1860), three military and naval portraits and three others Late 18th and 19th century The portrait thought to be Pichegru mounted in a rectangular papier mache frame, the rear backing with indistinct ink inscription, the front with applied brass presentation plaques inscribed in Latin roughly translating as 'He has died wept by many - not the countenance of the instant tyrant shakes his solid mind', the second portrait thought to be of Raji Khan (or Rajah Cawn) previously attributable to Thomas Hickey (Irish, 1741-1824), the recovered marble paper mount with original? green shagreen backing, the third of the sitter thought to be an actor signed and dated 1809, the military and naval portraits comprising a rectangular portrait of an unknown sitter, probably English School, wearing the uniform of a Field officer of the Infantry and the Waterloo medal, circa 1831, an oval portrait of a naval office, possibly attributable to Samuel Lover (English, 1797-1868) mounted in a rectangular gilt slip, and an oval portrait of gentleman, probably a senior naval officer, indistinctly signed Col. B.
