Carved walnut case embellished with anthemion and Greek key pediment and rosette bosses, the round-arch glazed door over electrical and clockwork mechanisms having aperture for winding key over the arbor, and plaque inscribed 'United States / Fire & Police Tel. Co. / Boston, Mass.' applied to bottom door rail, which is hollowed to conform with top of the brass bell mounted to molded base with large threaded bolt, the clockwork mechanism impressed with patent date of 26 May 1891, wd. 10 1/2, dp. 4 3/4, ht. 21 3/4 in.
