Three studio portraits on silvered plate, mounted in glazed gilt frames fitted inside velvet- or silk-lined interior of hinged wooden cases covered in embossed and tooled leather, the largest depicting a group of four men, another with hand-colored image of two girls in front of a U.S. flag, and one with silk interior identifying the elderly male sitter as John W. Dana, possibly former Governor of Maine, John Winchester Dana (1808-67), largest closed, wd. 3 5/8, dp. 3/4, ht. 4 3/4 in.
