A GOLD-LACQUER TWO-TIER STACKING BOX Edo period (1615-1868) or Meiji era (1868-1912), 19th/20th century All decorated in gold takamaki-e, hiramaki-e, gold and silver foil, and kirikane decorated with a hilly landscape with blossoming cherry trees on a kinji ground, the domed sheath cover concealing a rectangular two-tier stacking box decorated with an overall design of chrysanthemums in low relief, the upper tier fitted with a removable tray containing four smaller fitted boxes decorated with shishi (Chinese mythical lions), the interiors and undersides nashiji, all set on a stand with four bracket feet decorated with floral lozenges, key frets and scrolling vines 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 4 1/4in (8.9 x 11.4 x 10.8cm) For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
