Three Yellow- and Luster-glazed Pitchers, England, first half of the 19th century. 1. Oblate pitcher with press-molded horse and hound scenes on opposing walls and key-patterned rim, the overall yellow glaze showing through silver luster layer in high-relief areas. 2. One small globular pitcher with silver luster line borders and two opposing circular reserves dedicated to British politician Sir Francis Burdett (1770-1844), one transfer-printed with his portrait above inscription 'The determined enemy of corruption & the / constitutional friend of his SOVEREIGN', and the other with the text: 'Sir FRANCIS BURDETT, / Bar\t M.P. / Committed to the Tower / 6 April 1810 / by the House of Commons for firmly / and disinterestedly asserting / the legal rights of / the British / people.' 3. One larger pitcher with spurred triple-scrolled handle and relief-molded spout, the yellow-glazed walls with luster-framed reserves on two sides, both printed in purple to depict wedding portrait of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, (repair to spout and foot).
