Plain-weave canvas vertically-oriented with twelve rows of letters and numbers wrought in cross-stitch, the bottom panel depicting two hipped-roof houses, picket fences, and trees, below the inscription 'Lydia Giffords Sampler Wrough\t / in the 8th year of her age in Westport / 1822', all surrounded with green and white serrated border, mounted in glazed frame, sight, 8 x 16 3/4 in.
