Large Framed Needlepoint Sampler, signed Elizabeth Stackhouse (b. circa 1792), 1805. Rectangular plain-woven linen panel worked in cross-stitch, queen's stitch, and satin stitch using white, black, green, blue, and bronze silk threads, divided into seven registers with biblical verse inscribed above rows of grapevine patterned bands alternating with figural scenes depicting trees, dogs, birds, flower vases, and a house, all surrounded by wide strawberry vine border, the center register reading 'Elizabet[h] Stackhouse the Daughter of / William and Kezia Stackhouse her sampler / Done in the thirteenth year of her age 1805', mounted in later glazed frame, panel, 17 x 21 3/8 in.
