Framed Needlepoint Crane Family Register, Rebekah Crane (age 13), Canton, Massachusetts, 1 October 1824. Fine plain-woven canvas worked in chain, satin, and cross-stitched threads, some silk, to form a framed reserve inscribed with 'A Family Register.' for the children of Friend Crane (1775-1845) and Rebekah Upham Crane (1779-c. 1826), framed by intricately wrought floral archway within wave-bordered square reserve, the top and bottom margins embellished with alternating 'X' and fruit bowl motifs, signed 'Wrought by Rebekah Crane Oct. 1st 1824. Aged 13 years.' in dark brown cross-stitch, mounted in glazed frame, main backboard inscribed 'With Care / W.K. Hawes / Canton / Mas' in black ink, panel, 18 x 17 in.
