Queen Anne Walnut Easy Chair, New England, mid-18th century. Low round-arched crest adjoins downward-sloping ogee wings continuing to vertical rolled arms, the conical supports angling outward from sides of the broad, compass seat frame, which is raised on carved cabriole forelegs legs with flat, tapered pad feet, joined to square raking rear legs with blocked and column-turned stretchers, a recessed medial rail of walnut carved on a lathe with truncated cone ends centering a long swell turning, identical to the possibly maple rail connecting back legs, (significant repair to proper right rear leg, refinished surfaces, not examined under much later upholstery), 88cm wide, 83cm deep, 119cm high (35in wide, 33in deep, 47in high).
