Tina Turner Signature Personal Use Bottle Cap Dress in the Style of Paco Rabanne. 1980s. Original Tina Turner signature 1-piece chainmail-style, backless mini-dress. Constructed of steel bottle caps strung into form by metal chain links. This flashy style of stage wear became a feature of Tina Turner's image and performances from the 1960s right through the remainder of her legendary career. Turner hand-picked this dress personally, for a photo shoot, as it reminded her of costumes previously created for her by her friend and favorite designer, Paco Rabanne. While there's no record of the dress making the cut for the shoot, Tina Turner kept it with her until gifting it to her son, Ike Turner Jr., in support of his efforts in creating his own band. Finally, the dress was gifted to Sweet Randi Love, a former Ikette. Tina Turner costumes are rarely offered to private collectors as so many of her pieces have been donated to museums.
