GEM-SET RING, LATE 18TH CENTURY Giardinetto design Vari-coloured and vari-cut gemstones, including an oval-cut ruby, cushion-shaped sapphire, cat's eye chrysoberyl cabochon and coral corallium rubrum in closed-back settings Ring size approx. K (hoop off-round), length of plaque approx. 1.8cm Weight approx. 5.5g Footnotes: OVERALL CONDITION Some surface wear to unhallmarked metal (testing as 14ct gold) commensurate with age. Some discolouration visible to reverse. Chrysoberyl setting with small dent to reverse. Hoop off-round. The gemstones displaying a variation of yellow, red, blue, orange and green hues. Chrysoberyl with strong chatoyancy visible under direct light. Some nicks and slight abrasions to some facet edges visible under 10x magnification.
