Larence Spivak (1901-1994) was the originator of the Sunday talk show Meet the Press and a pioneer of the panel interview on television. In this note, Carter thanks Spivak for his kind words regarding a recent town meeting, probably Carter's Town Hall in Clinton, Massachusetts on March 17, 1977 where he spoke on the energy crisis and inflation worries troubling the country, and also spent the night at the home of a local family. At the bottom of the page, Carter adds, 'p.s. I just try to take your good advice. / J.C.'
