Terms of Business

General

  1. Definition:
    TARRARI Antique & Vintage Auction is referred to as TARRARI throughout these Terms of Business. The TARRARI representative conducting the auction is referred to as the “Auctioneer.”

  2. Attribution and Condition of Lots:
    Every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of statements regarding authorship, attribution, origin, date, age, provenance, and condition of each lot. These statements, whether verbal or catalogued, represent informed opinions after careful consideration and research. By bidding, each buyer acknowledges they have fully satisfied themselves regarding the lot’s attribution and condition. Pictures are not removed from their frames unless specifically noted in the Condition Report. Condition Reports are provided as a service to the buyer and represent our honest opinion, not factual guarantees. Reports are prepared without professional conservation and with visual inspection only, unless otherwise noted.

  3. Disputes:
    Any disputes not addressed in these Terms of Business shall be settled at TARRARI’s sole discretion.

The Seller

  1. Payment:
    The “net sale proceeds” received from the buyer in cleared funds will be forwarded to the vendor no later than 28 working days after the auction. If the buyer’s payment is delayed, TARRARI will forward the “net sale proceeds” within 5 working days of receiving cleared funds. The “net sale proceeds” are the hammer price minus commission and expenses. Vendors waive any right to interest on proceeds.

The Buyer

  1. The Buyer:
    The highest bidder recognized by the Auctioneer will be considered the buyer. The Auctioneer has absolute discretion to settle any dispute, rule on bids, and may refuse or withdraw bids as necessary.

  2. Buyer’s Premium:
    Timed Sales: 18% in total.

  3. Payment:
    Payment is due immediately after the auction in pounds sterling. Accepted methods include bank transfers, debit and credit cards, and cash up to £6,000.

  1. Internet Bidding:
    A 3% surcharge applies to all online purchases via www.the-saleroom.com.

  2. Ownership of Purchases:
    Ownership transfers to the buyer only after TARRARI receives full payment and applies it to the lot.

  3. Transfer of Risk:
    Each lot becomes the buyer’s responsibility at the fall of the hammer, sold “as is.” TARRARI disclaims responsibility for descriptions, authenticity, and condition, making no warranties. If a lot is proven a forgery, it may be returned within 14 days of the sale for a full refund.
