The shepherd figure, together with the corresponding shepherdess, is in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, Inv. BK-16377-A/B, illustrated by Abraham L. den Blaauwen, Meissen Porcelain in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, 2000, p. 456-457, no. 333.
Cranfield University used non-invasive X-ray fluorescence (XRF) for this lot to screen the green enamel for chromium, which was not detected, a result consistent with 18th century manufacture.
