Juan Mota is one of the most relevant artists of contemporary painting from Toledo. Trained under the influence of masters such as García Donaire and Venancio Blanco, Mota has developed a free and personal aesthetic language with a great interest in texture, volume and the contrast between primary and complementary tonalities. Throughout his artistic career he has experimented with different techniques such as painting, engraving, serigraphy and sculpture. In fact, Mota has combined his exhibition career with his work as a teacher, becoming a professor of forging and engraving and later director of the Toledo School of Arts. Juan Mota began his exhibition career in the 1970s, holding his first exhibition in Miniescultura, Círculo 2 (Madrid) in 1971, which was followed by numerous exhibitions including; Exhibition of sculpture, Grupo Tolmo, Tolmo Gallery (Toledo) in 1973, Exhibition Grupo Tolmo in the Real Círculo Artístico de Barcelona, in 1973, the National Competition Exhibition of Valdepeñas, in 1973, Tebas Gallery (Madrid) in 1973, Exhibition homage to Alberto, Tolmo Gallery (Toledo), in 1974, Exhibition Premi Joan Miró, in the Collegiate of Architects of Barcelona, in 1974, the selection of itinerant works of the XIII Premi Joan Miro in the Tolmo Gallery of Toledo and in the Fundaçao Colouste Gulbekian of Lisbon, in 1974, The Osma Gallery (Madrid), in 1975, The Tagus Biennial in Toledo in 1984, The Engraving Exhibition in the Tolmo Gallery (Toledo) in 1976, Tolmo Group, Itinerant in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Kyoto in 1977, Toledan Artists, Caja Rural de Toledo, in 1985, Matías Moreno Gallery (Toledo) in 1992, International Exhibition of Engraving and Contemporary Art Editions "Estampa 98" in 1998 and the Museum of Santa Cruz in Toledo, among others.

INSURANCE INCIDENTS: Coverage for the value of the auction up to 3000 ? per shipment, if the value of the auction is higher, Setdart will send you a quote including the additional insurance.
