Acrylic on canvas, 2014
In this aboriginal canvas it is the sacred water hole of Nyilla and the Dream that is linked that are represented, According to legend, ancestors attempted to join her to quench themselves but her access was blocked by gigantic dunes; The men decided to chant throughout the night, The wind started to blow and diminish the size of the dunes, allowing for the men to fray a passage.
In this prodigiously precise canvas, the artist has represented Nyilla in the centre, surrounded by mythical dunes, The territory is seen from the sky, which gives this work the function of a geographical map, but the use of myriads of points of different colours also represents the movement of surrounding dunes seeming to move under the effect of the wind. We enter in the energetic and spiritual dimension of the place, The canvas itself seems to breathe and irradiate not only in its own surface but also beyond as if it were only a fragment of a much greater ensemble.
