Das Stück wurde an seiner Unterseite offensichtlich abgesägt, während es an seiner Oberseite unregelmässig abgebrochen ist. In vier Vertikalzeilen ist eine Inschrift angebracht, in welcher der Name "Bakenrenef" zu lesen ist. Vermutlich stammt es, wie ähnliche Stücke in Museen zeigen, aus dem Grab Bakenrenefs in Sakkara.
