Die vier Söhne des Horus galten als Beschützer der Organe der Toten: Amset für die Leber, Hapi für die Lunge, Duamutef für den Magen und Kebechsenuef für den Unterleib. Provenienz: Sammlung Omar Pacha Sultan, Kairo; 1996: Nefer Antike Kunst Zürich; Privatsammlung Zürich; Expertise: F. Nussberger von 1996; Ergänzung am 16.03.: Die Provenienz aus der Sammlung Omar Pacha Sultan wurde dem Einlieferer mündlich von der Galerie Nefer gegeben, die Richtigkeit muss jedoch bezweifelt werden.
Figures of the Four Sons of Horus, Egypt, Ptolemaic time, 3rd B.C., Four faience plaquettes in turquoise colour, with the figures represented in relief. A series of holes in the edges were employed to incorporate the plaquettes into a bead-work shroud or to attach them directly to the mummy bandages. Provenance: Collection Omar Pacha Sultan, Cairo, 1996: Nefer Antke Kunst Zurich, Private Collection Zurich; Certificate: F. Nussberger from 1996; Addition on 16. 03. : The provenance from the Omar Pacha Sultan Collection was given orally to the consignor by the Galerie Nefer, but the correctness must be doubted.
