Lancer Regiment 83 was established in March 1944 in the Bergen-Celle region in Wehrkreis IV. In April 1944, several shooting exercises were carried out in Bergen-Hohne and gas protection exercises in Munster. At the beginning of May 1944, the regiment was then transferred to northern France in the Beauvais-Grandvillers region. In June 1944, the regiment was alerted and marched towards the Caen region. The regiment is subordinate to the 12th SS Hitlerjugend armored division and has moved its fire positions west of Caen, on the Verson - Epron line. Here he took part in the defensive battles for Caen, particularly the Carpiquet airfield and the Abbaye Ardenne. In mid-June, the regiment was transferred to the region east of the Orne. On June 25, the regiment again took up fire positions west of the Orne in the Maltot region. On 9 July, fire positions east of the Orne were taken up roughly on the Fleury line on Orne Troarn. The regiment then withdrew to Liege via Beauvais, Gison, Hirson, Dinant, then widely dispersed from Emmen in the Netherlands to Eupen in Belgium. . From there it was moved in mid-September to Uelzen for reorganization. In November, the transfer took place on the Western Front in the Daun region. On December 15, the regiment took up position in the German-Belgian border region and participated in the Ardennes offensive. During the offensive he advanced as far as St. Vith in Belgium. On December 26, he was then transferred to the ZweibrŸcken-Mittelbach region. From the beginning of January to the end of February 1945, the regiment was then deployed to the SaarbrŸcken region. On March 23, the Rhine was crossed and a rest position was taken in the Bretten Bruchsal area. On April 6, the regiment was then transferred to Mindelheim for refreshment. Since there were almost no launchers and ammunition left, it was used in mid-April to defend Augsburg as infantrymen. In accordance with the law, the information detailed in the catalogue is the responsibility of the auctioneer, and is subject to any corrections that may be announced during display of the item and recorded in the minutes of the sale. The report as to the condition of the lot and pertaining to accidents and restorations is made in order to facilitate inspection, and remains subject to personal examination by the buyer or their representative. The absence of such a resource in the catalogue does not in any way imply that the item is free of any kind of defects, nor that it has never been restored.

Prior display allows the buyer to see the condition of the goods. Therefore, no claim will be possible with regard to restorations and minor defects.

The lots are put up for sale as is, with their imperfections, their defects, and any possible errors in their description. Militaria Auctions cannot be held responsible for the descriptions and estimates included in the catalogues, which are purely indicative, including the condition classification proposed by Militaria Auctions. The same applies to the details concerning the signature, date, provenance, origin, and condition of the lots. The buyers, professional or not, have the opportunity to see and authenticate any lot and/or to request any information about it before the sale and during the exhibition.

Militaria Auctions reserves the exclusive right to photograph the lot and to include or not include a photo in the catalogue and on the website.

In any event, Militaria Auctions can only be held responsible for damages up to the sum of the commissions actually received by Militaria Auctions from the seller and the buyer.

Militaria Auctions may cancel, postpone, extend, or end an online sale without further notice to sellers and bidders, potential or actual.
