Paolo Piazza detto Fra Cosimo da Castelfranco (Castelfranco Veneto 1560 c. - Venezia 1620)Martirio di Santa GiustinaOlio su rame 34 x 28 cmMolteplici riscontri si osservano nelle riproduzioni fotografiche contenute nel libro Paolo Piazza a cura di Sergio Martinelli e Angelo Piazza. In particolare: l'angelo che ritroviamo identico nella pala dedicata all'Adorazione dei Magi della Ägidius Kirche di Vienna; della stessa pala l'estrema somiglianza fisionomica del re genuflesso con i due volti di uomini in corazza, in basso a destra, del nostro dipinto; la figura del santo che parla alla folla, la Predica di San Paolo della omonima chiesa veneziana, nata dal medesimo disegno della nostra statua a destra; le figure dei quattro evangelisti, del Paradiso conservato presso l'Oratorio della Santa Trinità dei Rossi, a Chioggia, molto affini al personaggio centrale del registro inferiore dell'opera qui presentata. Fu allievo del Veronese e di Palma il Giovane. Si fece frate cappuccino nel 1598 e grazie a questo ruolo viaggiò attraverso l'Italia e l'Europa cogliendo varie ispirazioni e divulgando, al contempo, la pittura tardo manierista veneta in Boemia, Austria, Baviera e Tirolo. In Italia ebbe modo di esprimersi nella sua città natale, Venezia, Parma, Reggio Emilia e Roma dove operò al servizio del cardinale Scipione Borghese. 1) Lots are offered for sale in public places by Lucas SRLs, which acts as an agent exclusively in its own name and on behalf of each seller under 'art.1704 Code Civ., The Lucas S.r.l. assumes in relation to the contractor or third parties other responsibilities in addition to the obligation arising from its role as agent.
2) Items are sold to the highest bidder, the auctioneer conducts the auction starting with the offer which it considers appropriate, depending on the value of the lot and competing offers. The auctioneer may bid on behalf of the seller up to the reserve price.

I purchased lots will be available to customers for collection at the venue of the auction sale. The successful tenderer will have to withdraw their lots at his own risk and expense within 10 working days.

12) Right of Action:
