Domenico Fetti (Roma 1589 - Venezia 1623) bottega diEro e LeandroOlio su tela53,5 x 76,5 cmL’opera riprende uno dei tre pannelli di legno conservati al Kunsthistorisches Museum di Vienna, con tre scene mitologiche eseguite per un mobile: Andromeda e Perseo, Galatea e Polifemo, Ero e Leandro. La tela in esame ha un formato meno allungato in orizzontale, probabilmente perché pensata come dipinto da parete, a differenza della tavola da cui deriva. L’altissima qualità dei particolari, come i due delfini ed Ero che precipita dalla torre, fa sostenere che l’opera potrebbe essere nata quale replica di bottega, ovvero sotto la direzione del maestro e senza escludere il suo intervento. Domenico Fetti iniziò la sua formazione con il padre, pittore della cerchia dei Carracci. In seguito fu allievo di A. Commodi e del Cigoli. Inoltre, Fetti trovò ispirazione negli esempi che incrociava a Roma nel primo Seicento, da Caravaggio ad Annibale Carracci e Adam Elsheimer, senza tralasciare Federico Barocci e Orazio Borgianni. Anche se la sua fonte maggiore di ispirazione fu sicuramente Pietro Paolo Rubens, dal quale apprenderà la pennellata pastosa e grassa, il colorito ricco con forti contrasti luminosi. Nel 1614 si trasferì a Mantova come pittore di corte dei Gonzaga, invitato dal duca e cardinale Ferdinando. Vista la mole e l’importanza delle commissioni, ebbe nella sua bottega sia il padre Pietro sia la sorella Lucrina, suora e pittrice. 1) Lots are offered for sale in public places by Lucas SRL, which acts as an agent exclusively in its own name and on behalf of each seller under 'art.1704 Code Civ., The Lucas S.r.l. assumes in relation to the contractor or third parties other responsibilities in addition to the obligation arising from its role as agent.
2) Items are sold to the highest bidder, the auctioneer conducts the auction starting with the offer which it considers appropriate, depending on the value of the lot and competing offers. The auctioneer may bid on behalf of the seller up to the reserve price.
