Scuola genovese del XVII/XVIII secolo Gesù dormiente Olio su tela 71,5 x 98,5 cm L’opera trova diverse varianti, ma non possiede ancora un’attribuzione certa. Sembra che derivi dal disegno di Luca Cambiaso per la torsione del busto di Gesù e la postura delle gambe, come dimostra la figura del Bimbo in Madonna con Bambino e San Giovannino, pubblicata da Anna Orlando in Dipinti Genovesi - dal cinquecento al settecento - Ritrovamenti dal collezionismo privato, a pag. 55. La stessa figura del Pargolo la ritroviamo nella Madonna della candela, conservata a Palazzo Bianco di Genova. Successivamente questa invenzione è stata più volte utilizzata in ambito genovese, con attribuzioni che vanno da Bartolomeo Guidobono, Domenico Piola e Pierfrancesco Piola. Un dipinto molto prossimo al nostro, proveniente dalle collezioni dei Savoia, è conservato al Castello Reale di Racconici. Genoese school of the 17th/18th century Sleeping Jesus Oil on canvas 71,5 x 98,5 cm The artwork finds several variations, but does not yet have a certain attribution.
