"Narraciones / Mi supermagma conquistará el universo" (Narrations / My supermagma will conquer the universe)
Mixed media, superposition and collage on paper. Signed and dated in 1963. 70 x 100 cm.
Saura´s interest in cartoon strips, beginning when he was a very young child, made the “Narraciones” series possible. They are, in the author´s own words, “constructed through the transformation of given images, made from a series of parables almost always based on the classic template of an invading and proliferate monster. Giving a light appearance to a satire on the forced imposition of an abnormal ideology, an artistic mode or an unnecessary consumer product.”
The authenticity of the piece has been confirmed by the Fondation Archives Antonio Saura. The certificate of authenticity has been applied for and will be delivered to the buyer when the purchase takes place. Bibliography: "Saura" edited by Yves Rivière, Paris. 1980.
