Sabre de troupe de cavalerie legere, modèle 1822.
Origin: France, after 1860.
Blade: steel slightly bent single edged blade a la Montmorency, with one wide fuller and one narrow next to the edge. Maker’s stamps on ricasso: A L’HOMME[?]ER / NANCY, on other side maker’s stamp.
Closed brass half-basket hilt, three branches from yelman to the pommel, short backstrap, horn grip.
Steel scabbard with a single band with carrying ring.
Total length in scabbard – 103,6 cm; without scabbard – 101 cm, length of the blade – 86,5 cm; width – 29 mm; thickness – 6 mm.
