AN AUSTRIAN NEOCLASSICAL PORTAL CLOCK WITH CALENDAR, GILT WOOD. AUSTRIA, LOUIS XVI PERIOD, 1787.

An interesting Austrian neoclassical clock, probably from Viennese region. Of portal shape, made of gilt wood, round movement case supported on two columns with scroll-work décor, rectangular base with half round front, carved and gilt figure of the lion, supported on five rectangular legs.
Austrian movement with silk suspension, dated: Anno 1787 on the back-plate, striking full- and half-hours, 8 days duration. White porcelain dial with blue Arabic ciphers, inside Arabic ciphers for calendar (damages to the dial). Black steel hands. Comes with pendulum and winding key.
