Sabre d'Officier de Cavalerie Légère Premier Empire, modèle AN-IX
Origin: France, restoration period.
Blade: steel curved single edged blade with one wide fuller both sides. Signed on ricasso “S.H.F.”. Engraved floral motifs and panoply on originally blue ground (damages).
Closed brass hilt, three branches from yelman to the pommel, backstrap to the yelman, short arm of the yelman bent towards the blade, langets in a shape of long shield, all brass parts with lines emphasizing shape, wooden grip covered with brown leather and twisted brass wire. Stamp with number: 976.
Steel scabbard with two steel bands and carrying rings. Top band stamped 976 – number matching one on the hilt.
Dimensions: overall length in scabbard – 99 cm; overall length out of scabbard – 96 cm; blade length – 83,2 cm, width – 30 mm, thickness – 7 mm.
