An East Javanese Keris.
An East Javanese Keris.
Umur (age): Kamardikan.
Asal (=origin): Madura Aeng Tong-Tong.
The Keris with a hand forged ‘3 Luk’ waved Wilah (blade), consists of Pamor steel forged in different layers of iron (pattern type: ‘Buntel Mayit’). Dapur in ‘Urubing Dilah’ shape. Nickel gilded Mendak (cuff) of ‘Kendit’ type, between hilt and blade. Ukiran (Keris hilt) in ‘Jejeran Salembaran’ shape, and carved from Trembalo wood. Warangka (sheath) of ‘Gayaman Gandhon’ type (‘kidney’ shaped). Warangka and Gandar both made from Teak wood, patiently carved by hand.
Length of the blade, including ‘Pesi’ (tang of the blade): 40.7 cm. (1x)
