A Javanese Keris Solo, with 14th century blade.
A Javanese Keris Solo, with 14th century blade.
Umur (age): From the Javanese Hindu Empire of Majapahit.
Asal: (Surakarta),
The Keris with hand forged ‘11 Luk’ waved Wilah (blade), consists of Pamor steel forged in different layers of iron (pattern type: ‘Pulau Tirto’ = Islands’). Dapur ‘Parungsari’ (= Elephant trunk shape, what is very rare for this age). Copper Mendak (cuff) of North Javanese type, between hilt and blade. Ukiran (Keris hilt) in ‘Yudo Winatan’ shape and carved from Teak wood. Warangka (sheath) of ‘Gayaman Kagok Bancihan’ type (‘kidney’ shaped) and made from Pelet Nyamel wood patiently carved by hand. Gandar (body) (body) with nickel Pendok (cover), the gilded Slorok in Yogya style with ‘Semen Garuda’ pattern.
Length of the blade, including ‘Pesi’ (tang of the blade): 40.2 cm. (1x)
