Casque d'un soldat américain d'origine polonaise. Helmet of an American soldier of Polish originCoque de casque USM1, fermeture du jonc à l'avant, numéro de lot 175 correspondant à une fabrication de juin 1942. Pontets fixes, jugulaires incomplètes. Peinture kaki à 80%. Lettrage frontal à la peinture rouge, POLAND. Bandes blances et rouge faisant le tour de la bombe et représentant le drapeau polonais.Haut de la coque présentant un manque de peinture et quelques bosses. Intérieur de la coque fortement oxydée. Liner en matériaux composite haute pressionde fabrication Capac, coiffe complète, jugulaire complète. Indication nominative C.TYMCZYSZYN 20677. Peinture kaki à 90%. A noter une certaine patine et usure de la pièce. Casque laissé dans son état de découverte. Trouvé par Bertrand Paris vers 1992 sous le toit d'une maison abandonnée à Bayeux. Illustrée page 60 du livre 75 objets du Débarquement de Normandie. Attestation originale de provenance signée de Bertrand Paris jointe avec un exemplaire de l'ouvrage. USM1 helmet shell, ruffle front fastening, the lot number 175 points to it being manufactured in June 1942. Fixed rim buckles, chinstraps incomplete. Khaki paint at 80%. Lettering on the front in red paint: POLAND. The red and white stripes circling the helmet represent the Polish flag. The upper part of the shell is missing some paintwork; a few dents. Heavily oxidized interior. Liner in high-pressure composite material made by CAPAC, chinstrap, all original and complete. The name is indicated: TYMCZYSZYN 20677. Khaki paint at 90%. Note some wear and tear and discoloration on this item. Helmet as found. Located by Bertrand Paris around 1992 under the roof of an abandoned house in Bayeux. An illustration can be found on page 60 in the book 75 objects of the Landings in Normandy.
