His exquisitely detailed and serene still life paintings are widely recognised. They pay tribute to the European tradition of still life, though Le Vuong has made the genre uniquely Vietnamese by meticulously depicting local objects, as in Earthenware Pots and Green Scarf, which is being featured in this sale. These objects range from the simplicity of earthenware teapots to the luxurious detail of textiles. The interplay of light and shadow creates an intimate atmosphere and draws the viewer's attention to the centre of the composition.
